Hallam Street Occupational Therapy Team
We are looking to welcome and recruit an Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Urgent Care team as part of the Mental Health Group within Black Country Healthcare Trust. The post holder will join our friendly multi-disciplinary inpatient therapy team based at Hallam Street Hospital, an acute hospital in West Bromwich.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who is committed and interested in working with people who have acute mental health difficulties.
As an Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for using occupational therapy assessments to develop recovery focussed and person centred care for designated inpatients who have identified priority occupational needs. Treatment plans will involve the use of meaningful activity, will be occupational focused and will involve both group and individual work with patients.
Therapy provision and hospital resources include a fully equipped music room, art room, gym facilities and ongoing re-design of therapeutic garden area to name a few. The post holder will work alongside Occupational Therapy Assistant practitioners and Technical instructors, physiotherapy, nursing, psychology and medical staff, therefore the post-holder must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have excellent organisational and time management skills. Enthusiasm and experience in service development and leadership qualities are also important and it is essential that you have good communication and interpersonal skills.
