Older Adults Mental Health – Community Services


Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive mental health service for older people who live within the Borough of Sandwell. The existing range of services includes Inpatient, Functional Assessment Team, Memory Assessment Service Treatment Team, and Therapy and Recovery Unit. In addition teams enjoy close working relationships with working age practitioners where some of our teams are integrated.



Older Adults Enhanced Community Mental Health Team (Treatment Team)


1 x Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner

(Substantive Post Full time 37.5 hours)



An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 nurse to join the Treatment Team element of the Enhanced Community Mental Health Team, specialising in working with Older Adults.


The current working hours of the treatment team are 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, with potential development of an on call system from 4pm to 8pm.


The post holders will work closely with the multi disciplinary team in their locality. They will offer assessment and therapeutic intervention / treatment to maintain people in their own home through a recovery approach.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic band 6 nurse, who will work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment, delivering first class care to people needing assessment and treatment within older adults mental health care.


You will find the team extremely supportive whilst you are growing into the role with a good team spirit and great team work at the heart of the service.


You will have need to have relevant experience in either hospital or community environment, including working with older adults within the field of mental health. Demonstration of keen interest of working with older adults with mental health difficulties will be essential.


You will be committed to the provision of a high quality service with the skills to work within a changing environment. You will also demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain professional, effective working relationships with other disciplines, agencies, patients and their carers.
